Food Pantry Update & Immediate Needs!

Food Pantry Update & Immediate Needs

HMUMC helped over 300 families in December 2010. Last week,

a new record was set as 64 boxes left The Pantry. We only have

enough food for approximately 21 boxes. If every adult attending

a Sunday worship service would bring one item per week, we

would have enough food to meet the demand. Most needed:

Canned meat (tuna or chicken), Spaghetti Sauce, Canned pasta

(ravioli, spaghettio’s), Canned fruit, Boxed potatoes, Flavored

Boxed Rice & Pastas, Peanut butter and Jelly. Visit our website

"Parenting Your Parent" Study

“Parenting Your Parent” Study January 26 – March 16

This 8-week study on Wednesdays from 6:45pm-8:15pm is led by

Stephen Ministry leaders. The focus is a Christian viewpoint that

helps adults think through issues involved with aging parents,

act on them, and find support among others with the same issues.

Sager-Brown Sewers & Cutters Needed

The Sager-Brown mission team is in need of sewers and cutters who can take patterns and produce finished school supplies bags.  When complete these bags will be shipped to UMCOR Sager-Brown in Baldwin, La., where they will be filled with basic school supplies for children in disaster areas at home and internationally.  If you would like to use your sewing machine for God’s work, please call Chuck McPherson at 770-945-1039.  You may e-mail Chuck at chuckm2009@gmail.com.

Parent-Child Dance!

Everyone is invited to HMUMC’s first Parent-Child Dance!  The dance is Sunday, February 13^th from 5:00-7:30 and it’s free!  Mark your calendars now and look for tickets to be handed out at Oasis on Wednesday and on Sunday morning!

F.Y.I.55+ Trip Rescheduled

F.Y.I.55+ TRIP
Because of the 17th being a holiday and so many people can't participate in
the trip, the outing to the Jimmy Carter Center is rescheduled for Monday,
January 24th at 10 am. The bus will return to the church at 3 PM. The trip
will include a guided tour of the library, free time and luncheon. The cost
of the trip is $10.00. Luncheon will be additional and on your own menu. Any

Auditions for Mystery Dinner Theatre

Auditions for Death By Chocolate will change from Thursday and Saturday to
Saturday January 15, 10am-12 and Monday January 17 from 6pm to 8pm in the
Choir room. "Members of the Newly renovated Meadowbrook Health Resort are
dropping like flies!" 6 men and 6 women are needed for this fun, Mystery
Dinner Theatre to be performed at the church the first week of March. Any

CHANCEL CHOIR REHEARSAL WILL BE SATURDAY MORNING AT 10 AM IN THE SANCTUARY. LUNCH WILL BE PROVIDED.

Anyone available to help at The Pantry? They only have one volunteer this morning and need help! Could use you from now until 1:00 (and anytime between!). 

FX Live

I can't wait for FX Live on Sunday, January 9. Preshow begins at 4:00 pm,
show is at 4:30pm. There will be snacks and drawings for goodies! It is a
fun, interactive, multi-media worship experience (quarterly) for kids and
their families! We will enjoy music, skits, dancers, and a take-home
activity for each family. You won't want to miss it!
