Thank you: Pray Quilt For Ursula Nicol

Hi,
I would very much appreciate it if you could pass on my thanks for the wonderful prayer quilt presented to me by Pastor Dave last Thursday whilst we were preparing for the ex prisoners Dinner that evening.  Could you also pass on my gratitude to all those in the prayer group who were also involved.

It means so much to me and I will be taking it home to England on 27 December when I return and treasuring it.  Whatever the future holds for me, I will always have my quilt and memories of a wonderful pre Christmas time at Hamilton Mill United Methodist Church.

  Kind regards
Ursula Nicol

4,000 Cans!

Church Leaders,

The Pantry has received a huge blessing! The Boy Scouts donated 4,000 cans for food yesterday! You should see the classroom across from The Pantry right now! Looking for something to do tonight??!!!

We need to process all of that food! Some of our Pantry volunteers will be on hand to coordinate, but we need lots of hands to make it happen! If you can help, come to the modular unit at 6:30!

Thanks for all that you’re doing!

Paul Knight

Brother and Sisters,

Your SPR committee and Youth Search Team are pleased to announce that our top choice for the Director of Student Ministries Committee as accepted the position!  Paul Knight comes to us from 12Stone and brings incredible gifts for ministry and passion for students.  Paul will be spending his first few weeks at HMUMC getting to know leaders in the church and spending time with our students.  This Sunday, David Saine will introduce Paul to the students in The Shed at 9:30 and 11:00, and on January 9th we will have a night of worship where students and parents can come and hear Paul talk about his passion for students and dreams for HMUMC!

Thank you for your prayers through this process.  Paul comes with unanimous support from the SPR committee and Youth Search Team, and we believe that the unity of mind that we have around Paul is a result of the prayers that saturated this process.

Welcome Paul!

The Table

HMUMC is starting a new worship service this month, February 11th!

What Is The Table? The Table is a service of authentic teaching, worship and community. Worship will include acoustic version of hymns and new songs, a sermon focused on teaching from the scriptures, a contemplative environment, prayer, and weekly communion.

Who Is The Table For?
1) Those in our community without a church home who are looking for a worship experience different from what is happening on Sunday mornings.
2) Members of the HMUMC community who will attend The Table in addition to Sunday morning worship. You may choose to do this for a variety of reasons, including to augment your worship experience from Sunday morning or to be a part of the church's effort to reach out in love to those without a church home.

What Can I Do?
All of us can commit to The Table in one of three ways:
1) Commit to pray for the leadership and attendees, as well as for those in the community that the Holy Spirit is calling into this new service.
2) Commit to attending for the first seven weeks as a Lenten devotion. The first seven weeks The Table will be working through the "signs" of Jesus in the Gospel of John to get us ready for Holy Week. Looking for something to do during Lent? The Table may be it.
3) Commit to attending The Table for the first three months. We are in need of individuals to commit to attending and commit to helping out on Thursday evenings
